Pretty much only in stories in conjunction with Zeus but still has a strong personality and dares to stand up to Zeus Hestia Shes the oldest daughter of Cronus and Rhea, so shes Zeus’s oldest sister. Goddess of domestic life, home, and hearth, the flame that keeps a family warm. Worship of Hestia was connected to worship of Zeus with the protection of stronger travelers. Hestia invented construction of houses and protector of family peace and happiness. She stayed on Mount Olympus to keep the sacred flame going Demeter Mother of Persephone Goddess of agriculture. Taught people to grow wheat n stuff. She came to the Greeks from a cult from Pelasgians who lived there before the Greeks and so is considered more ancient. Hades Lives in the underworld. Also called Pluto, and “plutos” means wealth in Greek. So its like Hades underground kingdom is delivering all the wealth the Greeks could derive from the soil. Hades is also the world for the underworld itself. Apollo Twins with Artemis, child of Zeus and Leto. Born on the island Delos. God of light, music, poetry, healing, and prophecy. Established the Oracle of Delphi, taught the Muses and accompanied them on the lyre. Artemis Twins with Apollo, child of Zeus and Leto. Born on the island Delos. Goddess of hunting, wild animals, wilderness. Spent time in the woods with Nymphs, hunting with bow and arrow. Protector of young girls and childbirth and midwifery, relieving women in labor from disease. Associated with the moon. Hermes Child of the titan Maia and Zeus. Zeus got a prophecy his firstborn would overthrow him so he swallowed his preganant wife. This gave him headaches. Hephaestus tried to help by hitting his head with a hammer which lead to Athena. She is always pictured armed, never a child, and always a virgin. She beat Poseidon for patronage of Athens.The Parthenon is dedicated to her. Shes like the most powerful and important god Hephaestus God of fire and blacksmiths. He was born ugly so his mom Hera threw him out giving him a limp. He was raised by the Nereids in the ocean.
